Net Nuetrality Part Deux

Not too long ago I blogged about Net Neutrality, and an issue L3 was facing with Comcast. It would seem that legislation is being pushed in the US, to not only enable people like Comcast to continue unfair business practices like this, but also opens up a whole other can of worms, where mobile and wireless content is further exploited by this practice.

GHDB tricks for refining your queries

Various admin and login portals work on alternate ports. Its kind of security through obscurity really, you just need to know where to look. Google is great at standard queries such as:

inurl:"(com|net|org)/admin/"

but almost never shows results for ports other than port 80. Google does however store the alternate port results when found, but they must be queried individually per port number to find them as all standard HTTP results generally show first.

BT4R2 VMware xorg.conf Wallpaper Fix

If you are using the new BackTrack 4 R2 VM, you might have noticed that the wallpaper looks tiled, even when you try to set it to centered, it still tiles it. Depending on the size of your monitor and default screen resolution this will vary. The reason is because there is a conservative configuration by default so as to not cause issues upon booting into the kde desktop for the first time. Its limited to a screen depth of 800×600, so even when your monitor may be 1440×900 normally, or 1024×768, etc, it will only tile squares of the wallpaper within the default depth of the settings in xorg.conf.
